    Hello !
    My problem is that on converting with VirtualDub a MPEG-1 file to a DivX 5.02 AVI I get the sound asyncronised by a proggressive amount during the playing.
    I tryed to convert separately the video and the audio then multiplexing them. The audio was saved as an uncompressed WAV then converted into MP3. No result what so ever.
    Please tell me, am I missing a setting or it is not as simple as i thought trying this conversion ?

    P.S. On AVI to AVI conversions (lowering resolution, changing AC3 to MP3 for lower file sizes) I have no problems. It's just the MPEGs that bugs me.

    Is your Options-->Sync to audio checked? If not, see if that helps. Also, you may want to give TMPGEnc's File Output to file-->Avi File a try to convert to DivX.

    And you tried to convert using TMPGEnc?
