Ok, Sorry for the huge explanation, but I'd like to have it clear and right

I have DVDMaestro and Smartripper and try to backup The Mummy, but I have problems with importing Dutch subtitle and chapter files.

I use ChapterXtractor to create a .chp-file with all 18 chapter entries, but when I import it DVDMaestro it finishes with "8 Chapter points imported".

Why only 8? There are clearly more timecodes in the .chp-file:

    $Spruce_IFrame_List

    00:00:00:00
    00:06:51:21
    00:11:48:05
    00:22:21:17
    00:27:50:24
    00:35:14:24
    00:41:50:24
    00:47:05:04
    00:51:21:12
00:55:07:14 apparently importing stops here, just before the 1-hour mark.
    01:08:17:18
    01:15:33:24
    01:23:54:00
    01:26:21:17
    01:32:34:16
    01:39:41:18
    01:45:14:09
    01:52:03:11

Also, when I import my .son-file (created with SubRip 1.14), subtitles are imported till the 1-hour mark on the timeline, no more subs after 55 minutes anymore. (*)

Also, within DVDMaestro, when I edit the first subtitle/.bmp file at 1:04 the content is incorrect, it's the content from halfway the movie (1-hour mark??), it's from subtitles00620.bmp, which is supposed to appear at the 1-hour mark.

    "0620 01:00:26:11 01:00:27:15 subtitles00620.bmp"

(*) Therefor that there are no more subs after 55 minutes on the Maestro time line.

    I have 988 .bmp subtitles
The content of subtitles00001.bmp is clearly the beginning of the movie.

    My son file:
    0001 00:01:04:07 00:01:06:10 subtitles00001.bmp
    Display_Area (000 000 719 573)
    0002 00:01:07:16 00:01:10:02 subtitles00002.bmp
    ....

But Maestro starts the subtitle import at subtitles00620.bmp

I ripped the files and use DVDMaestro as instructed in online guides, but apparently I'm missing something.

    Can someone help?
ANY ideas would be appreciated as I'm facing a wall here.

The SMTPE (timecode) of your movie file doesn't start at 0.

After you drag your mpv into the movie editor, look just above the #1, and you'll see something like 00:59:59:00. Click on it and reset the time code.

yesss, thank you! That was the solution to my subtitle problem.

However, I still have a prob with importing the .chp file.
It imports 8 chapters, instead of 18, it just ignores the other timecodes.

It's not a big problem as I created the other chapters manually, but still I don't understand why the import is not working properly.

  5. good thread but they suggest a creation of a 4h dummy video file. For me that isnīt viable. Is there any other way to import chapters correctly?
