  2. I know that this site is mostly about video, but how about seeing what kinds of music we all listen too? Or favorites?

    1. Rock'N'Roll
    2. Rap
    3. Country (if one wants to call that a form of music)
    4. Alternative
    5. Reggae
    6. SKA
    7. Punk
    8. Oi! (does this even still exist?)
    9. Classical
    10. Pop (or as I like to call it, poop!)
    11. Other witty option here
    12. TGPO singing showtunes in the shower

    Just a thought

Or this one, though for only the serious music lover

    1. Ska
    2. First wave
    3. Second wave
    4. Third wave
    5. Ska is dead
    5. Punk
    6. Oi!
    7. Ska-Punk
    8. Pop-Punk
    9. Punk is dead
    10. Oi, what this crap poll about anyway?!
    11. TGPO singing the soundtrack to Quadrophenia, (We are the mods, we are the mods, we are we are we are the mods!)

Have we done the "I'm in...." yet?
ie. construction, IT, medical, clerical etc?
    And if not, why not?!??
Might give us an idea on what we all do.
Anything's better than the "I use a pen to write on my cd's!"

Bored and in a car mood again

    I shift with my...

    ..umm.. I don't!

    a medium one
    enough to be happy
    nothing at all
    something else!

best bit about that one is, you let the voter make up their own mind as to what it means. Abstraction at work.

What's the longest SVCD/CVD you ever put on one (80min) CD?

    1) 40min or less
    2) 41min-50min
    3) 51min-60min
    4) 61min and over
    5) What ever needed to make the movie on two CDs
    6) Just as much as Tgpo does, he's my guru!

To note, my longest SVCD on one CD was of the movie "Contempt". Something around 97min 52sec ( ) !!!

MpegObsession, if you can point me towards a decent mpg2 encoder that i dont have to pay for (with a CQ option like TMPGs, hopefully, or a decent 2-pass) then I'll take up your 97 minute challenge..

  14. Here are a few ideas, don't know if any of them have been suggested:

    ---
    What does tpgo really mean?

    Trans-Gendered People Only
    The Great Pokemon Owner
    The Good Public Orator
    The Great Programming Oracle
It means nothing, that’s his real name

He should tell us all what it means when the poll is over....

    ---
What type of DVD media do you use?
    +R
    -R
    Both
    Neither
Whatever tpgo tells me to use

    ---
On which continent do you live?
    Antarctica
    Asia
    Australia
    Europe
    North America
    South America
    On tpgs’s home planet
Just what is this reality thing anyway?
    Quote Quote
  15. Craig,

Yeah, I bumped into it about 4 hours after my post. I would still like to know what 'tgpo' stands for.

    tgpo,
    Care to enlighten us?

It is a nickname I got back in 7th grade. Eventually I got tired of typing it all the time, so I shortened it to simply tgpo

    Ok, here's a good one I think:

    The Best Bond--

    1. Sean Connery
    2. George Lazenby
    3. Woody Allen/David Niven (for the hardcore fans)
    4. Roger Moore
    5. Sean Connery, again
    6. Timothy Dalton
    7. Pierce Brosnan
    8. tgpo

    8)

How about: Splitting Movie To 2 Or More Discs

    1. No, never. I would rather go back to VHS than change discs during a movie.
    2. Doesn't bother me, my player holds more than one disc.
    3. Yeah, I'll do whatever it takes to maintain the original quality.
    4. Only if the movie is worthy.
    5. Like TPGO I have trained my dog/cat to change the discs for me.

I realise this will probably fire up a heated discussion like it usually does, but I am interested in seeing the numbers. Of course the options could be altered a little so it would be relevant to DVD, VCD... etc... etc.

Or how about: How Much Video Quality Are You Willing To Sacrifice To Put A Movie On One Disc

    1. None, if I know it's not 100% I wont enjoy the movie, I will just pick at every flaw I can think of.
    2. 0-5% "It's only 5% who cares"
    3. 5-10% "No one will notice"
    4. 10-20% "Umm.. well I guess it still looks OK"
    5. 20-30% "Just gotta make sure I'm atleast 5 feet from the screen at all times"
    6. 30-40% "That's OK I'll just watch it on my little TV"
    7. 40-50% "Write something amusing here"
    8. I will do whatever it takes, and if it cant be done then I wont try. I'd rather go out and buy a second copy of the original.

    eats***, that sounds interesting.....

For the record i dont care too much personally, my eyes just go to all the little imperfections because subconciously they know what to look for and are still in is-it-good-enough-or-shall-i-recode mode. I worry a little more whether other people watching it will think it looks like ass, but most the time, people dont seem too bothered so long as the movie itself is good. Plain VCD looks as good to 'em as VHS (=good enough) if well coded, and xVCD... well i've had one or two questions of "is this on the TV then?!" and "how did you get this on DVD already? hey you get a good picture out of that cheap player..." so singledisc isnt yet a prob with smart coding.

How about..... whats the longest you'd dare put on one disc (..this after i just discovered a divx someone gave me is like 3 hours and 15 minutes.. think even I'd be splitting that.. 3 hours is already pushing it a little far.. quite how they made it watchable as a singledisc hi-rez divx, must be some kind of voodoo)

    100% of my questions
    80% of my questions
    60% of my questions
    40% of my questions
    20% of my questions
I don't search,I go right to the wrong forum and post stupid questions
I don't ask, I make coasters till the cows come home.
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

  26. How about:

I don't use the forum search because:
    1) I didn't know there was a forum search.
    2) I like other users getting annoyed at me.
    3) I love pointless posts.
    4) I can never find anything I look for.
    5) I PM my favourite users with my questions.
    6) I am a NASA monkey and know all the answers.
    7) TGPO answers my questions even before I ask them.

BTW: I like rude_skankin's idea of the punk poll. I'm a big punk fan. (What happened to punk rock?)

  27. We are developing freeware product - Alparysoft lossless video codec and are interested which formats to add. So our suggestion for the poll is:

Which codec format for lossless video compression do you preffer:

    - VFW
    - WDM
    - DirectShow
    - Other
    - I'm not interested in lossless video compression

    we would really appreciate
