    Here's another one -

how old is the oldest working burnt disc you own?

Is it a cdr, dvdr, or bdr?

    What brand?

That might be hard to work into a poll but it might make for an intersting general topic discussion.

Edit - forget the poll I'm gonna start this in the newbie general forum. This should be interesting for real world data at an experts forum like this....

I don't think this has been done before...

How far do you take customizing your personal computer's desktop?

I am satisfied using only the standard options provided by my OS and software
    I installed new wallpaper and/or screen-savers.
I added more widgets/gadgets for my OS sidebar or Google's (clocks, calendar, CPU meter, etc)
I use alternate skins for my applications when available
    I use custom cursors
I installed custom icons for my desktop shortcuts
I use programs that provide customizable gadgets, docks, or task bars (Rainmeter, Samurize, RocketDock, etc.)
I use software that allows me to customize the look of my OS's user interface (WindowBlinds ShapeShifter, Magnifique, Gnome, KDE etc.)
I wrote my own OS and software to have complete control over the appearance and behavior of everything

I'm sure its been done before but not recently -

Which is your favorite James Bond movie

    or

Which is your Favorite James bond actor

You can list the choices and of course include none of the above for those who don't like the series (which is impossible to imagine to me but anyway)

agreed! I would imagine the results would surprise a few. And maybe "I'm still using tape" for a choice

  14. Yeah, that's one of the better suggestions put forward. It will be particularly interesting to see if Blu-Ray has any legs. Not to put too fine a point on it, but many members here have sworn they would never adopt BD.

Actually if you look back we have done a few polls with those options last year.
    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/3...hysical-device
    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/3...ckup-your-dvds

How about a poll to see if our kids are better at the computer than us or was that TGPO lurking around recently or are you going to buy a touch sensitive monitor.

    @cogoswsds - good idea for a poll

    ----------------------------------------

    Here's mine:

    How about:

Do you have a nickname in real life? (in otherwords do people you actually deal with face to face in the real world call you by a nickname - ie not online)

    --------------------

Ok I guess online gaming via voice chatting Might count since you are actually talking to real people.

I wouldn't include internet forums like this one since most people use nicknames or alternate identities anyway.

    Ok here's another one:

Do you rate your own digital media collection? For the zune for example you can rate each song. Windows media player lets you do it also. I'm sure countless other media players have a similar setup. Do you take the time to rate your own music or video collection?

    ------------

Personally I think its a total waste of time. Why else would you have the music or video if you didn't like it? Especially if its a purchased download? I guess rating it might effect how the random play feature is used - if it did I could sort of see doing it but it just seems like a huge waste of time to me - its your collection you should like what you have and know that.

    Here we go:

    Are you in the clouds?

This would be about whether or not you use any cloud services. THis would include simple file storage to more complex things like cloud computing or the newest offer from amazon for music playing.

    How about:

Has the analog sunset left a sour taste in your mouth?

-Doesn't affect me, I have a HDTV w/ plenty of HDMI inputs
-somewhat affects me, as I don't have enough HDMI inputs
-Rat bastards! I have a perfectly working older HDTV w/ all analog inputs, and have to settle for 480i
-Doesn't matter, as I still have a tube TV and still enjoy my vast VHS collection.
