a xvcd question if i may

Just downloaded a film in xvcd format. If this is burnt to a cdr am i right in not expecting it to play on my dvd player. If so can it be converted to vcd or svcd so that it will.

Would tmpeg do this for me ??

You need to check the compatability of your standalone DVD player. Lots of players support XVCD. You wil burn as a non compliant VCD if your using nero. if your player does not support XVCD you could use tmpgenc to convert to a VCD, but quality will degrade.
