Hi everyone,

New to this, and despite my efforts I've run into a brick wall on this one. I have an .avi that's been encoded at approximately 30.036fps (at least according to Virtualdub). Here's what I've tried so far:

Straight conversion with TMPGenc - failed.
Stripping the audio off with VirtualDub and re-combining in TMPGenc - out of synch audio.
Taking the out of synch .mpg, I found a tutorial on this site that describes how to demultiplex the .mpg and time-stretch the audio to fit the video using SoundForge, but the copy of SoundForge I have access to couldn't open the .mp2 audio file without purchasing a plug-in (which I can't do).

So, what should I try now? Are there any other cheap solutions? Is this a common problem? Who the hell does video files at 30.036fps anyways?

Cheers,
Kithkill
