  1. I am seriously considering upgrading to higher-level DVD authoring software. The current software that I have, like NeoDVD and MovieFactory, are good for basic stuff but I want more control over my menus and such.

I've tried a demo of DVD Workshop but I'm not sure there's one for DVDit!

Which one do you like better? And also, is Dazzle DVD Complete in that same category? Being that is $100 and not over $200, the price suggests it may lack something...

Given that MovieFactory costs $44 and Workshop costs $280, your assumption that DVD Complete for $100 is missing some of the flexibility of Workshop is correct.

It does, however, let you do motion menus, unlike DMF. And it has one feature I've not found in any other authoring program. It can automatically generate disc labels, jewel case labels, and keep case labels with graphics that match the menus!

It won't, however, let you use AC-3 sound. not even if you mux it into an existing m2v with TMPGEnc first. DVD Complete will not accept files with AC-3 audio. The choices are MPEG or PCM.
