PAL DVD-> NTSC DVDR

Hi,

Searched the forum but couldn't find any useful info on this topic. I am trying to backup The Ring (PAL) version. My player doesn't play PAL format. I know there are players out there that do play PAL format, but I want to make a backup that I can play on all desktop players. Is it possible to convert a PAL dvd to a NTSC dvd-r?

Thanks wez_p. I also found that thread. I haven't really followed it closely yet, but from what I gathered it's not a trivial thing. I will look more into it when I have more time.
