  1. I've been desperately trying to capture a VHS movie (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2) onto my computer because I want to make it into a VCD to preserve the movie. I tried capturing it into my computer with Virtualdub using the PICVideo and Huffyuv codecs and with the ATI Multimedia center 7.1. Anytime I try to capture it, the video freezes at any random point, usually in the beginning, and jitters back and forth a few frames. However, the actual movie keeps playing in a little strip at the top of the video and the sound keeps playing.

It's hard for me to describe which is why I attached an image. If you look at the image, you can see a small horizontal bar at the top. Throughout the movie, that bar keeps changing as if the movie was still playing, but the rest of the screen keeps jittering back and forth at that image of that hot dog cart (or whatever it is).

EDIT: Apparently images don't work too well here, so here's a link: http://www.sheilnaik.com/other/messed up video.jpg

My friend tried to capture video into his computer and said he couldn't because of some copy protection. Could this be the case? If it is, is there a way to go around the copy protection? I'm not trying to illegally copy the movie. I just want to make a backup for myself.

I tried playing the movie with ATI's Multimedia Player, Windows Media Player, and Virtualdub and all have the same problem. Can anyone PLEASE help?
