I didn't see an answer for this and I have the same problem.
If I run the file manually it also does the same thing. Log file shows it didn't encode but the files are all there.
Any other input on this?
Thanks
Phil

Same problem here, post your computer specs:
Windows Xp + latest updates/patches/sp
Intel 2.4 Ghz
it worked before, now it closes itself. It does it with DV-avi files only. somebody here said, that the program works with DV type II,
+how do you convert from type I to II?,
+how do you know what type your file is? -
I don't know the difference between the DVI files. Is there somthing on this site to explain it?
The program does work for the first file, converting it and placing it in the proper directory. When I open it back up and look at the log it says that the conversion failed. The converted file works fine also.
My computer info is in the header.

Same here, the converted file looks fine, but I can't do batch conversion. What I do it open encode one at a time.
, opening multiple times the program, encoding a different file on each session, it works but it's annoying.
I will check in other forums the DV type I and II -
Here is what I found.

Looks like the main difference is in the audio porition, so I am wondering if TMPGEnc doesn't like type 1 or 2 or if something else is causing it to close at the end of each file.Canon Optura 20 for Video

I found a solution. Go to the tools->codecs and get the canopus or DV 1 to DV 2 convertor (this last one is better) and convert your DV files to DV 2. Tmpgenc will digest them better.
Well I just found out that the second tool produce problems with audio. So be careful and check your file after is converted
