  1. I just got a new computer, i have the nimo codec pack installed and all drivers needed. When i try to play some avi's, no matter what the program, the program crashes and gives the little windows error report. I tried technical support for dell, and they don't know what their talking about. Does anybody have any ideas, their are no conflicting drivers, plenty of memory available (512mb) plenty of hard disk space, and no know mismatches. Why can't i play it. Note that it is not all files, just some.

  2. They are probably just some dodgy avi files, I have had a few, some people put out films on the net, like kazza or imesh and they are fakes................

  3. i would remove the nimo codec pack cuz sometimes they cause problems.. just use gspot to find wat codec u need for the file... and i guess use latest media player?
    but yea there is some fake files out there but it should be blank not crashin the system.. last resort is to reinstall windows

  4. Check this post out if you are running XP. It has helped me as it appears XP always wants to read the whole avi.
