    I'm running windows ME and i'm trying to use avi preview to check out my downloads from kazaa but when i try to run the priew i an error get message.

  3. Are you sure it is an AVI file you are trying to preview and not an mpg.

    You need to have a big enough chunk to process and sometimes that is quite large.

  5. Videolan (see tools to left) seems to be able to play even small chunks of AVI files. If it gets to the end of the fragment, you will get an error message and it shuts down (can usually stop it before then).

    doesn't matter if its avi or mpg avipreview plays mpg and avi.

    I have version 0.17 alpha and this does not support mpeg files.

    The newets version which is version 0.21 can play mpg as well.

    Cant seem to upload the screen shot to image at the moment to show the error, but i think ive worked it out it was just saying that the file was to small even though i had downloaded about 20mb.
    Just need to know do you leave the avipreviewer in the shared folder where the files are and do you need to rename them from dat to avi

  10. No, you dont need to rename the file you should be able to play the partially downloaded dat file. You can put avipreview wherever you like
