Hi, I recently purchased a Ikebana DVD+RW and upon opening the box I find a Ricoh MP5125A. Has anyone else had this happen? Whats the deal?

I've heard that the Ikebana drive is a relabeled Ricoh. Almost all of the DVD+/-RW drives on the market are made by one of a few OEM companies (like Ricoh), and everybody else just buys from them. You should look up your drive in the DVD writers list if you haven't already, somebody might have commented on it.

Bladestorm,
What's the major concern? If it is just a re-boxed MP5125 why worry. I've had my 5125 for some time and have not had a single issue. Rock solid drive with no where near the number of issues with media/reliability as many others. Check for the latest firmware (1.51 I think) on Ricoh site set that into the unit and away you go.
Happy Boyning!!

Studebarc.
