I have recently bought new CPU/RAM/Motherboard (see spec at the end of this message) to get my capture card/video card to capture at mpeg2 720x576(PAL DVD) quality.

My capture card(Creative 3d personal cinema) uses a Nvidia chip and the software I use is WinDVR(prefer to use this due to features) and there have been updates for both the video card, the capture driver (which is a WDM driver) and WinDVR.

So I updated these drivers but didn't reboot between each individual update, instead after each driver was installed I didn't reboot and then install the next one there after.

I also install (before the above happened) direct X 8.1, originally Direct X 8 was installed but I did reboot afterwards because it forces that to happen. I also installed a newer version of WinDVR to get around some of the problems it had.

I now come to my problem - since I installed these drivers I am getting dropped frames and I am wondering if the way I have installed these drivers has caused the problem. I didn't get dropped frames before and

My reasons for posting here and not creative are that their site is down and they never respond to my posts!. I do apologise for the essay but I prefer to try and give as much info as possible.

I am currently downloading newer drivers from Nvidia for both the capture driver and the video card and I have also downloaded direct X 9 redist version.

    My PC is as follows:

    CPU : AMD Althon 2100+ XP 1.8ghz
    RAM : 512mb DDR 2100
    Motherboard: MCI 6950
Hard disk used for capturing : IBM Deskstar 180GXP 60gb

    Current driver versions:

    NVidia graphics card:30.82
    Nvidia Capture card:1.10
    Direct X 8.1
    WinDVR : 1.80

    Downloading :

    NVidia graphics card:41.09
    Nvidia Capture card:1.17
    Direct X 9

Just could do with some input on this.
    Regards

Yes it is operator error as it has nothing to do with the drivers directly. I have just discovered that the cable that goes between the card and the green box (this has all of the connections ) has a bent pin.

My main concern now is trying to get hold of another cable from creative or any where else.

If any one can help here I would really appreciate it.
    Regards
