how does 450 mhz power mac translate to the speed of a pentium or amd or "ibm-like" processor... is 450mhz fast for a mac?
Im jus not into mac but they do (as my mom would say) "look pretty"
Im jus jokin with ya but I really wanted to know how fast 450mhz is for a mac...
btw... i have a 1.7 ghz pent 4 -
450 PPC is about the same as a 900mgz-1ghz Intel chip.
No 450 is not fast for a mac, mine is a few years old. They now have the dual 1.42ghz G4 towers out. I wish I had the money for one of those bad boys. -
hey tpgo, i always thought since you have these cool posts,
You were one of the big boys, and you only have a 450?
And a mac on top of that? Dude, you need to get into the
"real world" amd2000+ are at 100bucks now, so get it
together, ok?keep up w/ the polls....try an OS poll next... -

I'dd do an OS poll next then. But I will never own another Wintel box. I had one before my Mac, and I'll never go back. I use a PC at school, and hate every second I'm on it.Originally Posted by musher70

AMD Athlon XP 1900+ (1600) here.
But shouldn't the 6th option from top be >2.5 instead of >2.6, TGPO?
What option could somebody with 2.6 choose at the moment?

backed up? Here you go. It took just a couple minutes.
I thought going from 8-14 hours encoding w/AMD500MHz to real-time encoding w/1.53GHz was something. If you could run at 12,000GHz

And I use the Highest (slowest) setting! -
Pentium 4 1.7 GHZ =P
No one can beat my VIC=20 at 1Mhz with 3583 bytes of RAM!!!!
Anyone have the 3.06 Ghz Pentium 4 with HT??
The Pentium 5 should be comming soon, perhaps a year or more.
Only If I could afford the Alienware. -
GuestAnybody actually know how its suppouse to do any good? As I understand it's only good for multi-tasking.... For me, on win2k I set the priority of encoder to "Realtime" on the Task Manager, and it gives the program full power up until the point the mouse pointer doesn't even move...Originally Posted by 130T|_|L15/\/\

It's good for multitasking, you won't notice anything when your gaming, at least i didn't notice anythingOriginally Posted by mpegobsession

PIII 1GHZ
imac DV+ 450
DV+ seems a popular model...
Is pouring the cash into turning my PIII to a dual gig worth the cash? -
if you think running any proccess at real time will increase your speed substancially and also keep your system in a stable state - you should do a little research on the msdn site and also intel ..Originally Posted by mpegobsession
