Which is better the APEX 703 (not 703A) or the APEX 700AD? Both can be region hacked and macrovision hacked. But which is better? And is there way to strenghten the laser of the APEX's?

  2. The 700 seems like a higher-quality unit than the 703. It also offers more MP3 features.

    Some output differences:

700: component outputs (no 5.1 outputs), headphone jack (with level control)
703: 5.1 outputs (no component outputs), two microphone jacks (with echo and level controls.)

    Whatever you do, don't buy a 703A.

They're both equally good, but I think some of the 600s look better. Last years Apex almost looked like a Panasonic A110. I always like the body style of the A110 which I used to own, I just didn't like the way the player would perform on "dual layer switches".

I bought the "GE 1101P" and ended up taking it back in 2 hours. Every XVCD I put in this player would NOT play past the first chapter; It would get stuck and freeze. I had to turn the player off and back on just to get the disc out. You may want to conside the "Apex 500W" or the "Curtis Mathes DVD Player", these players are more flexible with XVCDs in my oppinion.
