  1. Is it possible, i have loads of VCD's made from MPEG/MPG But whenever i try to burn an AVI or ASF file, it says it must be converted to MPG prior to burning, is there any way to get around this in NERO, or another program that will burn AVI & ASF to VCD, i'm not really worried to much about quailty loss in this case, the video file isn't in the best quailty anyway.

  2. VCD's are MPEG1-movies (SVCD and DVD are MPEG2). So if you want to make a VCD you will have to convert the file to MPEG1 with an encoder or let NERO do it for you (I suggest you don't let NERO do it and use TMPG or Panasonic - or whatever encoder you like) So the answer is NO!

The answer is yes if you want to burn the files to cd in data mode (iso9000), in which case they can only be read by a pc. Any burning program can do that.
