I am using Adaptec's Videoh! PCI to capture from SVHS to DVD and am noticing occasional skips in the picture that look like dropped frames. The Audio is fine, and Video/Audio sync is fine. I have tried several different bitrates using the Movie Mill capture software (version 2.71), and have also tried direct Off-Air recording to eliminate TBC concerns. I even tried recording SVHS to my miniDV camcorder and then playing back the miniDV into the Videoh! Analog input. No matter what I do, I always see occasional skips. And they always seem to occur at the same point in the Video, so it does not appear to be some random interaction with my computer (PIII 866 Mhz, 128MB Ram). I am authoring with Movie Factory 2.0 Demo without any MPEG2 modification except for setting chapter points. Any suggestions?
