Problem with raid.
I have winXP pro servicepack 1 dirext x8.1
Abit KR7A-Raid AMD XP1700 3stk Maxtor D740X 60GB (raid0) 512 DDR ECC/REG
Creative Audigy Creative 3Dblaster GeForce3 Ti200 Chieftec Dragon DA-01B-D Plextor 24* Asus DVD-E616
Under Device Manager – Scsi and raid controllers
HPT372 UMA/ATA133 RAID Controller
Driver Provider: HighPoint
Driver Date: 25.01.2002
Driver version 2.31.0.0
VDEVAX SCSI Controller
Driver Provider: Generic
Driver Date: 11.11.2002
Driver version 3.26.0.0
I use Adobe premier 6.5 and Sony PC9 (DV in and out).
When caputre movie to the raid 0 disks (F and G) split by magic partion 7.
I got 118 dropped frames on 40 sec movie. But on my 3. Maxtor (C and H). I got no dropped frames on H. Can it be a conflict with bios and raid drivers?
Under is some info from Sisoft sandra 2003.

I've got a similar system (see my hardware settings in the line above).
It seems an Abit board tries to share IRQ's and DMA's very easely.
For your captures (especially when you capture onto the RAID), you must be sure the RAID-controller does NOT use any shared IRQ and DMA (if you cannot get any available IRQ/DMA, get some by disabling some onboard devices - like the USB, or instruct to NOT use an IRQ for the AGP-VGA and/or USB's).
You must manually reconfigure these in the BIOS of your system and instruct XP to use these modified values (instead overriding it to use its stored settings).
Only then your RAID will work faster than the 'conventional' IDE-controllers.
Also, you should be sure that when you're capturing, the disk attached to the contoller you're using as capture-disk isn't used for anything else (you must create it a 'dedicated' video-disk), so don't install software onto it, don't use it as some kind of TEMP-disk and so on. At the controller, which has the video-disk connected to, should not have any other disks connected to (although a CDR would be alright, but remember that the speed of the ide-cable is set to the slowest device attached to it) which might be get used by something else while capturing (otherwise, you get dropped frames).
Also be sure you use an ATA-133/166 highspeed-cable to connect the disk to the RAID-controller.
You possible must screw your system open to check all these and you should have some knowledge about the system-bios of your system (which is very advanced - and so very complicated - at Abit boards)
