DVD2ONE compression question

I ripped Gladiator with dvddecrypter and it was 6.47 gigs.
Then I compressed it with DVD2ONE to make it fit on one disc.
The VIDEO_TS folder I ended up with is only 2.9 gigs. Shouldn't it be 4.7 gigs to make the most of the dvd?

I compressed it twice with DVD2ONE and both times it came out as 2.9 gigs.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I answered my own question. When I originally ripped the movie, it all didn't get ripped for some reason.
It works now.
