  2. What do you mean by 'cutting' ?

What format do you capture in ?

What do you use to encode ?

What do you use to author and burn ?

Ive had the same capture/tuner card for a couple of weeks and am yet to get the best out of it. I was also using a Vibra sound card & found the sound distorted at all recording levels, by luck a friend had a spare SB Live sound card which solved the distortion problem.....not sure if this will help with your woes.
Ive also captured a few vcd mpegs (pal) on the fly with this card, the output was reasonable, but will try capturing to avi 1st. I'm presently using the Winfast PVR to capture to 720 x 576 avi using Huffuv codec, then tmpgenc to mpeg2. So far so good, changing the master stream from audio (back) to video solved any sync probs.
Movie only DVD9 to DVDR guide.
