    Sony shows there dvd writer as the dru500ax. You guys refer to it as the dru500a. Is there any difference...?

    The dru500ax is the dru500a in a new dress. They have updated the firmware to allow it to burn 4x DVD+R along with the 4x DVD-R. The firmware update on the Sony's web page gives the dru500a the same ability but they just didn't change the dress.
