  1. I just bought the Pioneer DVR-A05 and upgraded to the 1.21 firmware from this site: http://wwwbsc.pioneer.co.jp/product-e/ibs/device_e/dev00001r_e.html
Sometimes when I burn it gets to 100% but never finishes, the timer just keeps counting and never stops. This freezes the program and drive up and I have to restart the computer in order to eject the disc out of the drive. When I tried playing the disc in my DVD player it played fine, no problem at all. I'm using Memorex 2X DVD-Rs but this also happens with another brand I bought from tigerdirrect (Emtec DVD-R 1X). This happends with Nero Burning Rom. What could this be?

  2. How long did you wait, it normally takes 2-3min after reaching 100% for my program to say job done. Once had it take 6min (have no idea why). Burning with DVD Decrypter thou the ave is about 2min past the point it reaches 100%.

Try <ctrl><alt><del> and see if your program is still running or locked up.

  3. Thanks for helping Vejita-sama, well DVD Decrypter has been ripping great, but when I go to burn the .iso I just ripped, it sometimes stops burning in the middle of the session but the counter will still be going and the write speed will drop down to zero. I don't know if this is my burner or the media. I just burnt a data disc with Nero and it went fine. The problem I was talking about in my first post, it got to 100% done then counted for about 7 mins, maybe I should have waited a little longer. What do you think? Also what burner do you have? If you have the Pioneer DVR-A05, what firmware is it?

  4. I have a Cendyne/Pioneer a05 with the orginal 1.0 firmware. I have sucessfully backup about 30 titles without creating a coaster except for one. The one time that it failed was as described in the topic, where it just sat there looping eventhough the status bar said it was at 100%. I had to shut the computer down in order to eject the disk. This only happened only once so I just filed it as a freak event. Hope it won't happen again.

  5. I know you have new recorder than the ones in this post but your may want to check it out. This is some info regarding the older Pioneer recorders and how they can lock up and damage the device. You may want to contact Pioneer.
