do you know how i can play a vcd 2.0 on the dreamcast. i heard i need a boot disc but i dont know how or where to get it. thanx for your help.

I've not tried vcd in dreamcast but judging by the way the DC handled divx and Mp3 I wouldn't waste my time. I was really let down after all the time i spent figure out the exact way to burn the divx and Mp3s to disk and then all they did was skip. The system is not powerful enough. Check into a moded X-box with the Evox dash makes a great all-n-one gaming machine.

You need a boot disc to play VCD's on the Dreamcast. I got mine off this site, www.megagames.com . I found the playback of VCD's not too good though. I tested it using a trailer disc I had and it seemed to have severe problems handling the fancy transitions in the Star Wars: Ep 2 trailers. When one happened it would pixelate the whole screen and take about 5 seconds to come clear again.

As for MP3's I had no problems playing them apart from the fact it couldnt handle MP3's with variable bitrates.
