  1. Hi,

I've been using all versions of ffmpegX since 004d.

Before, with v 004 I could obtain a mp2 file alone, out of a vob file (not ticking any preset and using the audio encode only at the proper rate).
I used this possibility sometimes for later multiplexing.

With v006 this does not work any more.

Also (and I feel it may come from the DVD itself), I recently tried a SVCD (I'm succesful normally) with v006e and it did not work (encoding stopped immediately) whereas the same vob was taken into account by v004k (but with sync problems, even if I'm only working in PAL)

My question : - did the engine mpeg2enc was changed recently or maybe the command lines have been changed in v006 ?

    - is there a way in v006 to extract sound only from a vob ? (I mean create a .mp2 ?)

    Thx

Default VOB decoding method in 0.0.6e/f is "QT decode" for which you also need to install the apple-quicktime-mpeg-2-player component. If you disable "QT decode", you'll reverse to same method as 0.0.4k. Finally, "mplayer decode" is a third decoding method which should fix sync and doesn't require the quicktime component, but it's slower.

Yes, and it is extremely fast. Choose video codec=passthrough, "disable video", audio codec=mp2, select audio track you want to extract from VOB, open the VOB, save as.. "sound.mp2", "Encode".
