Is it possible to simply burn my existing xvid movie onto a cd in the xvid format? If so how? My player is listed as being able to play this format fine? If not, what is one of the best ways to convert to a format I can readily use, as well as preserving the highest quality of video and audio? Thanx.

I'm guessing that if you burn it onto a disc as data it will retain the file format.
Could be wrong though.
That's some player you got if it will play data discs, I would have thought a conversion was nescessary 1st.

There's a player that plays XviD? I knew there was a DivX compatable player, but I wasn't aware of an XviD. If you player says CD, CDR, CDRW, that means it will read the disk, not that it will play an XviD written on them.

My thoughts also Gazorgan.
I wonder if the player you mention that plays DivX will also play XviD?. Just like some of the players that advertise VCD compatibility will also play SVCD?.
So many questions.
CODe917, there are currently a load of posts on the forum regarding XviD convertions, I'm sure you will find all the info you need on the first 2 pages. I've converted 2 or 3 myself with great results recentely.
Good luck
