I am trying to load an avi into VirtualDub but it keeps giving the message
"Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'MP42' (Microsoft High_speed MPEG-4 V2)"
Any help would be welcomed

I would definately NOT install Nimo. Install the missing codec only. Nimo can break codecs that are working (sometimes requiring a format/re-install to fix).
Use G-SPot to identify the missing codec.
