black screen?

i tried to convert a AVI in TMPGenc and when it's done it's just a black screen
i don't know why,it never happened before
anyone can help?

In version above 12A it happens to me too with captures from my DC30.

try installing the smr codec. well, it worked for me, heres the link:

Can you play the avi in media player? Can you preview the AVI in TMPGenc prior to encoding it? (one way to check if you can preview it is to click on settings, then click on teh advance tab, then double click source range. From there see if you can scan/scroll the avi).

You could be missing a codec. But you might also want to try frameserving the movie to TMPGenc with AVISynth. This works for me for qt/mov I convert to AVIs. I can play them w/ media player but TMPGenc only gets a blank screen unless I frameserve them
