Hello all,
I am having sort of a strange problem that I have not seen before when converting my DivX file to DVD MPEG2 compliant file. First off I have followed all of the guides to making sure there were no junk frames and that everything would work.
Upon trying to convert a movie from divx I decided to use VirtualDub to remove the audio/wav and let TMPGENc handle the video and the newly created wav file. This created a horrid out of sync audio problem towards the end of each disc of the movie. I then decided to let TMPGENc handle the same file as the audio and video source. At first this would not work properly with me either getting errors upon opening the file, or if the file opened, it wanted to create a 11GB MPEG file using 3000 bitrate. I then found the help instructions regarding the Environment Settings > Direct show filter. I increased it from -1 to 0 with no affect. Then from 0 to 1 and now the DivX file opens properly without error.
I converted CD's 1 and 2 last night and opened them up this morning. All of the audio was in sync throughout the movie which pleased me. But then I began noticing some pretty bad affects that every so many seconds in the movie I would see these blocks of blue/red/green colors appear on different parts of the screen. They appeared only for a frame or two and then disappeared. This appearantly is a result of either the Directshow filter or something else I have set incorrectly.
Can anyone point me in the direction I should go to get this fixed? Here are the options most notably used when I convert from Divx to DVD using the TMPGENc wizard:
Video/Audio File > filename.avi
Video Type > Interlace
Field Order > (Field B)
Content of Video > Video Movie
Constant Bitrate
VBV Buffer > 0 (automatic)
DC Component > 10 bits
Motion Search > Highest Quality
Number of P Pictures > 4
Number of B Pictures > 1
Closed GOP > *OFF*
Output YUV Data > *ON*
Use Floating point > *ON*
No Motion Search > *OFF*
