    Hi
I am new to this forum, but have been posting for years on divx.com.
I finally got around to trying the forty-two for svcd conversion!

    WOW!

Question is this: The output seems to be the same no matter what setting I put in for the User Rate
My understanding is that this determines the quality, larger the number the better quality - and thus a larger output.

I did the following settings and got the following svcd disk sizes
    1. 2500 One 712 meg one 425 meg
    2. 2700 One 712 meg one 425 meg
    3. 3500 One 712 meg one 425 meg

How come no matter what I set this too, i always get the same size of output files!??!
The quality looks decent, but I would like to make at least 2 700 meg files!

Likewise, every dvd I convert sticks itself out. I noticed an earlier posting about this, but mine only does it right before it actually starts making the output files. They stay in during preview but right when its done extracting, the dvd sticks out. I just remove it, put the drive back in and watch the numbers streatm down my terminal.

They are always in sync and look great! Just would like to be able to make them look even better!

PS When is version 1.0 going to be avaliable?
    Thanks

    Galactica

  2. forty-two 1.0, and the 1.01 updater, are available at http://homepage.mac.com/kaicherry/

Please download 1.0, run the installer, then the build support app.

*then* run the 1.01 updater and let us know how it works out for you!

    Thanks for trying forty-two.
