  1. Im hoping someone can help me solve this as frameserving seems fairly straightforward to me. I think I might be missing something in the configuration because I can duplicate the error on all my machines, which are 98se and w2k.

Anyways, for the sake of getting the frameserving thing working, im taking an uncompressed RGB avi, 352x240, plays fine in all media players, applying no filters or anything, not changing anything in vdub, just trying to get the process to work. I have installed the vfapi readAvs plug in correctly, it is listed in the environmental setting option.

When i start the vdub frameserver and and try to open the signpost file with TMPGEnc (which, after installing the readAvs plug in, recognizes .vdr as a compressible media type), I get a "cannot open or unsupported type" error. I know its not a problem with the avi. Im not changing any settings in TMPGEnc other than loading the NTSC vcd template. Im thinking this is where Im missing something but the various tutorials ive read seem to say "just start the frameserver and open the signpost file like any other avi". This isnt working for me....

Im using vdub 1.4.7 and TMPGEnc 1.2j, the latest versions I believe.

Can anyone shed some light on my dilemma? Im hoping this is an easy one to solve, something I just need to change in the config.

    thanks in advance
