I don't think this is a newbie question, but hopefully the answer will be easy.
I have many XViDs and DiVx and all of the audio works, but in just 2 of the XViDs, the audio does not work for me. For other people it works, but not for me.
I have AC3 Audio codec
I have ffdshow
I have XViD newest codec
One thing that is weird that happens is that Microsoft downloads a codec (through WMP) EACH time the movie plays, and it is referred to as "Microsoft Audio Codec" - it doesn't do that except in these two movies, and it does it every time I open them. Even when I use Gdivx player, it asks to download the codec.
I have also tried using VirtualDub to try to rip the audio out as a WAV, but it said it cannot recognize the audio.
Anybody have any possible solutions? Thanks in advance.

Download and install the Nimo Codec pack. I had the same problem and this sorted it out.

hey there. good advice above but before you go and install all those codecs that you will not need. download gspot and let it check your movie. it will tell you which codecs you need to install to view the video properly. no since in installing 50 different codecs when all you need are a few at most. peace and have fun
