  1. I'm going nuts. I think I've tried every trick I found on the website and followed every guide there is on vcdhelp.com. The problem is this: I'm trying to convert a downloaded Divx to VCD. I also want to add dutch subtitles to it. When I convert the Divx to VCD without subtitles all works well.
But, when I convert the Divx to VCD with subtitels the sound is going out of sync.
This is the process I used: Split the sound from the Divx to .wav with Vdub -> convert the subs from .srt to .ssa -> use vdub frameserver for adding subtitles -> use tmpgenc to convert the Divx (via vdub frameserver .vrd) to VCD. I've used the same fps (23,976) for both input as output.
When I look at the mpg Tmpgenc created, the first 37 min. are going just fine. After that there is a minor distortion in the video which seems (?) to be the reason for the sync problem. After that the difference between audio and video is about 5 sec. The distortion is also present in the original Divx and it doesn't give any problems at all there.
I really don't know what to try anymore and all my hopes are on you guys. I hope someone can help me to solve this.

    Regards,
    Ramon

you could try to correct the file, I think it wont be easy

Or you coulkd try to convert the part before this X and then the part after the X. You can join mpegs afterwards.
Cut the divx with vdub, the subs with subtitle studio ( cut+convert in 1)

Did you check the video stream for errors? ( vdub)
Anyone tired of his old DVD burner? Why put it into the trash? Contact me! :))))

  3. Hi,

I did check the stream for errors and it came up with none. I tried to correct de divx by cutting the distortion, but like you said, it was very hard to get it right again. I've also noticed that when I split the audio from the video that audio time is shorter then the video time. Streching the audio didn't do any good, it was still out of sync. It's a weird problem and I think I'm gonna throw the towel....
