I read about that trick to convert an svcd to vcd. I would like to try it although I am having a problem extracting the mpeg from the svcd disk. Yes I have tried to manually drag it off the cd onto my harddisk. Are there any procedures or software that I can use to do so?
Tom.

I had the same problem.
You can do this with VCDEasy. There is an option to rip (s)vcd, you can extract an mpeg from either (S)VCD or from an image file. Seems to work fine. You will have to re-encode the mpeg stream as mpeg1 (using VCD header trick), then burn as VCD in Nero or VCDEasy.
See the guides for details.

you can make an iso file of the svcd (with winiso or something like that) and then open the iso file and take out the mpeg you want.
