Hi all , I capture a video (.avi) from my VCR using virtualdud 147 @ 352*288 and CD quality Audio. After I use TMPGenc 12j to convert to a mpeg file. When i do a test play of the mpeg file on the PC , the picture & sound quality is very good. So i burn the mpeg into a CD-R using Nero 5.5.4 and burn it @ 4x speed. When i view the VCD in my VCD player (i tried 3 different machine) and the audio is terrible, i can hear something like shaking sound.
I wonder what's wrong with it ?
btw, i do follow the guide here to capture and convert to mpeg but when i burn using nero, it complaint stream xxx and ask if i want to re-encore. i tried both way (encore and burn 1 VCD and not encore and burn one VCD ) and it all result the same, shaking audio on VCD player. But when i use the same VCD and play it on my PC the sound is very good. I wonder is nero creating the problem or what ..
anyone can help ?

First, when you try to burn in nero unclick/turn off 'Create standard compliant CD.' Nero can only handle MPEGs that are in the white book standard (and even then not well). You might also want to use VCDImager, to burn an image of the MPEG instead of loading it in Nero.
Do you have a 4x burner? If so so try 2x (ie. less than full speed). Although most people can burn at full speed some of the older/cheaper CDRs just don't handel audio well at full speed.
If that doesn't you can try two other things:
1) Demux you MPEG to create seperate MPV and MPA/MP2 files, then remux with bbMPEG, use VCDimager to make a bin/cue file to burn.
2) Re-encode the video and audio seperately, mux w/ bbMPEG, VCDImager, burn. You can use TMPGEnc/CCE to encode the video and tooLame to encode the audio. This would be the last resort of course -
well, i have the HP 9100i 8x bunner , i guess it's not the bunner fault. will try the VCDimage and burn and try tomorrow !
