I have a US-sold ATI Radeon VIVO w/7200 chipset. I can successfully capture NTSC, but when trying to capture PAL the picture starts jumping and/or all colors fade to black after a few seconds. It then momentarily recovers, only to lose the picture again in a second or so. Sometime it stays up for 5-6 seconds. I tried ATI tech support, and they keep saying that the US edition does not capture PAL. Are they correct? If not, where can I find a printed statement to prove them wrong? If they are correct, what are my options? I need to be able to capture PAL. Thanks in advance!

P.S. The tape I am trying to capture is NOT a commercial tape, but a home-made wedding video.

It won't work unless your camera or VCR is PAL.My suggestion is let TMPGEnc or other authoring software convert to PAL.

Sorry, I should've made it clear. The VCR is a multi-system VCR. It can play PAL and NTSC natively or in NTSC->PAL conversion mode. Here are all the scenarios that I tried:
1. NTSC tape - VCR is set to NTCS native - captured OK with ATI software set to 'NTSC'
2. NTSC tape - VCR is set to NTSC->PAL conversion captured OK with ATI software set to 'PAL-60'
3. PAL tape - VCR is set to PAL native - ! PROBLEM !
