Ever since I got a new motherboard (TUSL2-C to P4S8X), the line in from my vcr is too loud. Windvr automatically sets the recording volume level to 75% whenever it starts up, but im not always there when it does (scheduled captures). I am aware that in windvr 2.0 you can change the recording level, but i don't really want to fork out any more money.

Is there anyway to to make windvr start up with a different recording volume? (like a registry setting or something).

Another way i could do it is build a volume controller like those found on headphones, so if anybody know how to do that, please post.

    Thanks

  2. Same here.

You can find all the part at Radioshack. Had to build one myself. A plug, jack, wire and a 10k dual pot.

  5. RadioShack sells an in-line stereo volume control designed for headphones. It's pretty inexpensive, and I've had to use them to trim the line-in before.

But, as far as windvr, you really should think about going to version 2. The 1.x series had a bad muxer and a bad audio encoder. Version 2 makes mpegs that are ready to burn.
