DVD2one with MENU GUIDE!

This worked for me so it may work for you too.A simple way to do this would be:

1) Rip everything ofcourse to your local drive.
2) Using DVD2ONE - get everything around 4.3GB.
3) DVD2one will create probably 4 VTS_1 sets(VTS_1_1, etc)
4) depending on how big your menu is(usually its less than 200 MB), YOuo have to REENCODE the last VTS_1_4 to fit your MENU..

IN other words, IF the total output what DVD2one creates is (4.3 gb) then you need to re-encode the last movie from 0.9 GB to maybe 800MB(using CCE) and create a VOB using DVD Maestro.

Once you do that, rename your vob to VTS_01_4.VOB. HEre is the important part to make sure it works.

1)COPY all the files you ripped from your DVD MOVIE(orignial VOB) and copy ALL THE FILES into a folder.

2) If your movie set is in VTS_01_x then delete the movie set (for e.g for a 9.4gb movie, VTS may be VTS_01_1, VTS_01_2,...till maybe vts_01_8)
Then cut and paste the 4 movie VOBS you created above. ONLY THE MOVIE..NOT any BUP OR IFO FILES!!!

Another step: EVEN if you don't want the extras, MAKE SURE you leave th em in your directory, you can delete after step below. The reason you leave them(The ifo and bup,vob) files is because some crappy DVD players such as SONY DVDN715P and Samsung and TOSHIBA Crap(I call them T squared for Toshiba Trash) like to make sure every IFO file is included in your DVD..they do a CHECK for those files, If its not present THEY WONT PLAY!!

3) Once you have that, load ifoupdate, and orignal IFO is the one you ripped from the DVD(UNCHANGED) and oringal IFO is also the one that should be currently in you directory as mentioned above.
Authored is the one DVD2ONE created.

4) Do an UPDATE IFO and then Correct VTS Sectors. The ifo files(+ifo for extras) get updated, It repoints the sectors.

Once that's updated you are ready to burn. You can NOW delete an VOB file for EXTRAS. I usually leave the IFO and BUP and it works on the TOSHIBA that I bought in 1998(first dvd player made my human race maybe)...

The quality issue: The movie I ripped was 5.8 GB(3 hour movie), Played it on the 27 inch t.v and it works great ofcourse. Now comes the TEST, I took it downstairs to my 65 inch t.v, I played first with the S VIDEO and the picture was great..NOT PERFECT but maybe 95%..the picture with PROGRESSIVE SCAN COMPONENT input WAS AMAZING..no one could tell which one was the original dvd. My TEST worked out great..I think this tool is good for people who want to maybe pop a movie on a rainy day and watch it..

Total time from start to finish: 1 Hour 10 minute 5 seconds. I timed myself(including bathroom break)....

Note: Chapters MAY NOT WORK, mine work though weirdly..I just wanted to play the movie and that works.

But if they are getting any money from me,they'd better damn well release a version that converts the entire DVD to fit.Includeing menues&extras and not just the movie.Then the program would be perfect and worth the $40.

Otherwise it just ain't quite good enough at the moment....

Instead of step 4 , you can just load a extra audio file in dvd2one,then strip it with ifoedit to create room for the menu's.

hmmm......your guide is a bit confusing. I think I'll wait for the next version of dvd2one that suports menus

I am using CCE to encode my movies. It works good..and usually I do pass 3(3 hour with my P4 2.6).

The smart thing about DVD2one and I don't know if anyone else noticed is that..It won't minimize the movie to exact 4.3GB. IN other words, I did Meet the Parents, movie lenght was 5 some GB, It made it into 3.9GB. GREAT Quality. I did not have to re-encode anything else since the menu was 300MB and it made my movie around 4.1GB..I for fun re-encoded the extras from 900MB to 200MB to fit it on the disk. Even though the extras are not great quality. THEY are there if i venture into them...

The same thing it did for Ocean's Eleven. madde the Movie around 4.1GB..I added the menu and ifoupdate..

The only time I had to use CCE to reencode a VOB was when I did a 7.5GB movie(2 hour 30 min movie). It then made it exactly 4.3GB..

From what I see, DVD2one will not CREATE exactly 4.3gb for every movie. IT Analyzes the structure and then based on that it
will shrink the movie. This is the best tool out there...however for 2:30 hour+ long movies, CCE IS the way to go since quality is better here..
