    Hi everyone,

    I have 3 questions

    1) I have been checking for an error in my downloaded avi movie file using Divfix and found the following error:

    Error offset: 457368026
Corrupted data detected at frame 252609
    Error offset: 456960060
Corrupted data detected at frame 252308
NOTE: The error checking is not perfect!
    Checking Errors...

So what does the above error means and can anyone please tell me how to fix it. I used rebuild index in Divfix to fix it and i still get the same errors when i checked for errors using Divfix. So any software that would fix this problem?

    2) I was converting a downloaded avi file into mpeg file using DVD2SVCD and Cinema Craft Encoder SP and i keep getting a black border on top and bottom of the screen. How do i get no black borders and wide screen and keep original aspect ratio as the downloaded avi file? Because the download avi file when i played it with my pc it is perfect, no borders and is wide screen. How do I maintain same when converting it into mpeg? I tried all options in DVD2SVCD.

Also how can one tell his/her TV setting is NTSC and/or its aspect ratio is 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio?

    3) I know the following issue is off the topic and off the forum, but if u don't mind and if possible can anybody please tell me if i can add a new hard drive with my existing hard drive. I have a 40 GB IBM hard drive in my system. If I can add one, does it have to be IBM or any brand name hard drive is ok to add on? If no problem adding different brand name, any suggestion which brand name hard drive is the best next to IBM?

    Still learning,

VirtualDub can take out those bad frames (Error offsets in DivFix).
