  1. I´m trying to play some video files in my pc,but i´m having a lot of trouble doing it.
The movies seem to be avi files, tried to play them in media player,it began searching for the codec,no codec found and then played only the sound,no image.Tried in radlight and bsplayer, got a crash. Tried to load the movies in virtual dub,got this error message:
"Couldnt locate decompressor for format "I263" (intel H.263)
Virtual dub requires a video for windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."
What should i do?I have all the codecs i know and a few more...
    HELP,please!

  2. hello
    heres what i was told
go into the tools section of this website and download the program called GSpot
load your avi into there and it will tell you what video and audio codecs you need to view the file

everytime i open an avi into WMP it does the same thing to me...searching for codecs and never finds any...but sometimes the avi will work and sometimes it still won't
but i have found that with g-spot i have been able to open everything because it tells you what you need
    good luck!!

    Here's what I found:
The ffmpeg I263 is a fringe (maybe hacked??) version of Intels 263. It was developed for Linux systems to stream live Audio/Video....There is a version for the Mac also...... I did a search on Google for ffmpeg...then I263..and H263......
I'm thinking that it would normally be openable by a codec most people already have...( I have never found a Uncorupted Video that I cant view)..But you must not have the neccessary ones.......
    I would try here... http://www.moviecodec.com/codecdownload/
to down load the Intel version I263....and if that dont help
....read up on it here.. http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net/

  8. Fmpeg is a player for Linux. Just download some divx codecs which are free and install them. Your problem will be solved

  10. Which codecs did you ultimately end up with? Just curious here. I have used the KristalStudio Divx Codecs for awhile now, and they seem to work well.
