  1. I switched from 98SE to Win2k - and this is what's up...I can no longer unlock all the files off of a DVD. I could in 98SE, but not in 2k - this applies with all ripping software. I thought this may be an ASPI thing, but I can't install any of my burner apps (Nero makes it crash in an oh so wonderful fashion). I was just wondering if anyone has had something like this happen and if they got a fix-ish for it...

    Thanks

I had a problem with that. The easiest thing for me was to do a a clean install that way you don't the WINNT and WINDOWS folders mix ups.

If you play the DVD for a few seconds with your PC's DVD player software, it ought to unlock all the files for the ripping software. This has worked for me.

I had problems playing DVDs after a ME->2000 upgrade (got an overlay error), but figured out that having Netmeeting Desktop Sharing running in the system tray was causing this problem.
