DVD-9 to DVD-5 need better....

I have tried many solutions stated here... I have even tried following the "best manual" http://mac.mercy.bei.t-online.de/ , but the audio was off. When I try breaking the video into 3 mpeg files and put them together in quickime, the audio gets out of sync by the end of the movie because of the three breaks... I like the export to mpeg2 provided by apple, but Quicktime repeats the same frame after 2gigs. Are there any solutions that work where the video stays sharp and the audio is ac3 and is in sycn??? Hopefully someone (or apple) will fix the quickime > 2 gig solution... Thank you.

I tried that german tutorial as well, and it woulda worked out nice, except everything I tried came out in PAL 25 fps. :/ I dunno if its something I wasn't doin right or what. It auto recognized the NTSC input, but always output in PAL. It took a 2:12 hour movie to like 1:44 heh. Oh well...
