Let's see its 2am almost, raining outside and I decided to have some FUN with DVD2one and MENUS...I have it working...BTW DVD2one is one heck of a utility. I ripped XXX and played back on my Progressive SCAN DVD Player, not to mention 65 Inches big screen t.v....IT looks 99% off the original..I even got the upstairs dvd player and hooked up with S Video, played original on Channel 3 and Copied on COMPONENT!..4 out of 4 COULDNT TELL THE DIFFERENCE! anyways..Too late to post the know-hows of the menu and how to "correctly" make em work..Its probably 1 hour of work..Will write more in the morning...

It's not that hard to keep the original menu using DVD2ONE... Someone already mention it in other posts...
If the DVD has 2 audio tracks... English and French... You choose both on DVD2ONE... Then use IFOEdit to take out the French audio track... That should give you enough space to put your original menu... -
We all purchased dv2one so WE WOULDNT have to do all
this stripping, ifoediting demuxing remuxing recoding decoding
then get vts sectors, if ya want the menu, use dvd xcopy to
split, go that way... -
musher, we purchased it so we wouldnt waste time on re-encodes. There is supposed to be an update to keep menus and features and all that. Pinnacle is making a program just like it soon.
-
Yeah, i seen those "coming soon" pinnacle thingies, but
studio 8 wouldnt even work on my system, so why spend
dough for that? Sure is gonna be more than 43$..
Just sit back and wait for updates.... -
I plan on waiting, but for now I would like to know how to work DVD2One to include the audio tracks and subs and just rip them to make the menu.

This is what I did for menus:
1- I ripped all the files from the original DVD excluding any extra feature VOBs which I didn't want to include.
2- Let DVD2One do its thang!.
3- Deleted the movie VOBs from the DVD Decrypter created directory and copied the vobs from the DVD2One created directory over.
4- Ran IFOUpdate, selected the authored IFO, then the original IFO and gave a temporary location for the BAK backup file.
5- Checked with WinDVD to check that the new files work as expected.
6- Checked the files weren't too large after the menu addition to fit on one DVD.
I would add to this that you should check the size of the menu VOB before assuming that it will fit. I've only done this on films with simple menus which have added very little to the total size. For more complex menus you will need to experiment to a certain extent with adding additional audio or subtitle streams which can be removed with IFOEdit. Strip the streams out with IFOEdit between sections 2 and 3 above.
Another point is that any links from the menu to the omitted extra feature will obviously not do anything but I still thought it worth to do this on occassions for the aesthetics of the menu and for the thumbnailed chapter menu. -

Incidentally, if anyone wants the full procedure for stripping out the unwanted streams, you can get a full guide here:

It's much better than any I could do.
