  1. Hi, I have a problem.

When I tried to open an AVI file in winXP I got this error:

"Couldnt locate decompressor for format "DIV3" (Microsoft High-Speed MPEG-4 V3 [Hack: DivX Low-Motion])

VirtualDub requires a video for windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."

I have install DivX 5.0.2 and the movie play fine with wmp 7.1 and realOne player.

I use Virtualdub to open the file is because I need to use it to extract the AC3 from the avi and then save it to .wav. After that convert it to VCD with TMPGEnc

I able to do the task in win 98, but not win XP. Can anyone help me to figure out the solution so that I don't have to use two PC to do the job. Thanks....

p/s: I post the same topic at other forum, some ask me to install Tsunami-patched DivX 3.11 codec, use nandub or virtualdubMOD instead, but all don't work. The error prompt once I click "Open video file" --> "Open"
