Just wanted to start by saying thanks to everyone who contributes!
I bought my A03 drive about a month ago, and since then I have been reading thru the posts since.
Although the learning process was pretty frustrating I kept at it. I started with pretty simple tasks and gradually worked my way up.
I started with:
DVD-5 to DVD-5, then DVD-9 - DVD-5 (movie only/no reencoding), then DVD-9 - DVD-5 (movie only w/ encoding), then I learned how to add menus (using photoshop)...
and tonight, I finally got a DVD-9 movie and most menus to work (w/out reencoding) flawlessly usuing SmartRipper, IFOUpdate, and IFOEdit.
Analyzing and editing the IFO's were probally the hardest thing I have done so far regarding authoring.
I know most of you are way past this point but I just wanted to drop a post and say thanks to all who are involved in this site (mods, and all who post useful info).
Tomorrow Im gonna try rencoding the extras and the movie so I dont lose anything..
Although ripping the movie only (w/out encoding) gives you better quality and its alot faster, I perfer to do it the hard way because it offers a challenge.
