    I've got a Dolby Digital stream coming from an SPDIF jack and want to capture it to an .ac3 file. Currently, I'm using a Live! 5.1 Platinum card, but I'm considering getting a new motherboard with the Nforce2 audio chip.

    I've heard that there's a way to do this. HELP!!!

    Ok, I'm seeing at doom9.org that a "bit perfect" SPDIF is needed and that Creative is far from "bit perfect." I've Googled, and am not impressed by the cards that show up.

    Has anyone used a widely accepted sound card for this purpose?
