I am getting a new resolution, im guessing it's xvid, its 576x240 with a framerate of 23.976, and getting this format quite often. When converted like it is It's like a reversed wide screen. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a dvd rip of a 2.35:1 super-widescreen film... slightly smaller than the usual 640x272 rez but still good quality. Quite why it would be 'reversed' widescreen.. er, you mean it looks far too tall on the TV? That may be just the resizing setting, you have to set it to 'keep aspect ratio' instead of fullscreen, otherwise (with eg VCD) it'll squash just the 576 horizontal down 1.6 times instead of both directions, and make everything look wrong.

Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more!
