I have used virtual dub and free VCR and I do not capture any audio! Video is fine. How does one asociate my Soundblaster as a audi source and how do u let virtual dub know to grab it there. It shows in the windoe that it is grabbing audio but nothing plays back in the avi file?
Thanks

Hi
Quite a lot of people are getting this problem. What sometimes works for some does not work for others.
Vdub should be taking the audio from the "line in" with a TV card's out going into the SoundBlaster. Capture cards that feed the audio direct to the SB I guess would still be using the line in (Within the card)
On the Vdub web site it does talk about this, but says to click capture, then come out and click capture again.
What is your capture card etc ? -
Hi
Just one more thing, bring up the volume control before/after you load Vdub make sure the lines are all on. -
I had to tweak my sound settings to get my wintv Theatre card to capture sound. Would have sound at preview with no problem, but wouldn't capture sound at all.
My solution was (with the capture software working and audio coming in) to open up volume (double click on yellow horn in taskbar) click on Options and then Properties, then Recording. Make sure all items are checked and then (with Win ME at least) you can see volume level monitor and it should be a changing level when you adjust the volume bar of the correct control. You may have to use aux in, sound card or mixer control, depends on your system. Mainly play with the settings of the RECORDING properties, not playback. Hope it works.
