AOL spends over $100 on CD's for every customer they get. Do the math. Also, look REAL close, I don't believe they have EVER posted a profit. All the aquisitions and mergers were payed for with Stock, which after all is just paper from a companay that, although huge, isn't profitable.

AOL was great when it was the first and only ISP to offer unlimited use, until you tried to connect and had constant busy signals!! Anyone remember the switch?? 1996/97, somewhere in there... I remember leaving for work with the re-dial hack running, coming in for lunch and not having connected!!

    Fade to black

I choked laughing so hard, and I believe it was MSN or Compuserve that did it.

  8. 99 billion dollar loss in 2002?
Sounds like they finally got their accounting right due to increased scruntiny by the Feds(U.S. govt.).I'd say it's time for AOL to start selling off some of its' holdings.
