having the same problem right now. any comments? i used it before and it worked ok and now the styles box is empty so there are no styles to select or edit and the subtitles created are too small and not aligned right. too close to the bottom. redownloaded the software and still doesn't work. anybody knows why?
-
Click on the actual subtitle, then the EDIT button will appear active (don't understand why the only subtitle on the page has to be highlighted prior to editing, myself).
Set your styles globally in the FONTS window. I find that you have to use larger font sizes than you would think in M_SBT. But once you get the size the way you want it, just stick with it. I find that I also have to set the bitmaps to full screen so that everything lines up correctly. -
what do you mean by clicking on the actual subtitle? the only place i can click the actual subtitle is when i go to edit&preview, and there any changes i make only apply to a specific subtitle. i don't understand.
-
If you want to globally change your subtitles, go to the STYLES page, highlight the style you want your new options to apply to (it will now allow you to edit the style), then change away. Here, you can change fonts, sizes, alignment, margins, etc.
The styles are imbedded in your subtitles, so if you don't have any styles available, you have a problem with your subtitle generator (I use Sub Station Alpha). Create all styles there (in your subtitle generator), and they will import into M_SBT. -
that's exactly the problem... i don't have any syles there to highlight... i know what you mean i used it once it that's how i did it. worked just fine. now when i'm using it a second time... there are no styles to highlight even after downloading again to a new folder. no styles and therefor nothing to edit except individual subtitles.

Go to the program that created your subtitles and add the styles there. If none are embedded there, you won't have any in M_SBT.
What program are you using to create your subs? -
Here is a small listing of a .SSA script file (which M_SBT wants to see). You might want to try to add a style directly to your subtitle script. It might work.

OK, i have the same problem ......
How do i apply the style that i modified after i pressed the "Styles" button to all subtitle lines? I don't want to do it line by line, cause this will take a lifetime ...
I can't find the option.
Thanx -
1. open the SAA file with NOTEPAD
2. delete the text from the first line right down to [EVENTS]
3. instead of what you deleted paste this:

Thank you very much for your reply.
It seems that i managed to import the file correctly in Maestro_SBT, i have access to style and can can modify it.
Now i have another problem. The timings in my ssa file are like this:
[Events]

......................
The bitmaps are created correctly, starting with "Text1", "Text2", "Text3" etc ...
However, Maestro imports first the "Text102" line at the 1:02:05.04 time point instead of the "Text1" line, which is the first line of the subtitle.
It seems that Maestro ignores the "hour" digit and catches the first subtitle after the 1 hour mark.
Am i missing something here? -
i never had that problem. don't know wht to tell you...
the script you gave for example is the script for the .SSA file. i understand everything worked out fine in maestroSBT too and that the bitmaps were created right. right now you got the SSA file the SON file and the BMP files. what you gotta do now is import the SON file in maestro (right click on the subtitle line and select import subtitles) and everything should work ok. -
In the meantime i came up with a solution and after i finished and it worked, i realized why i had the problem in the first place.
The solution i found was to shift the time in the original srt file by 1 hour, so the first subtitle to begin at 01h 07min 30secs. This way i got all subtitles imported correctly in Maestro.
After i did that, i saw the cause: in Maestro, the SMPTE Time Offset was set to 01:00:00:00 instead of 00:00:00:00, which shifted everything ahead by 1 hour.
What is this setting anyway? -
